Sarah Krupp ~ Black Hound Emporium
My name is Sarah Krupp and I love Halloween.
As far back as I can remember I looked forward to Halloween more than my birthday or even Christmas.
I expect that it was natural that my love for the holiday eventually worked its way into my art.
My favorite medium to work with is paper maché, I took the skills I learned in grade school and turned them into something else entirely. When I start a pumpkin, I usually have no idea what it is going to turn out like, and that is one of my favorite parts. Not only is the whole creation process enjoyable, but then I get this surprise near the end where the pumpkin finally decides to reveal its face to me. My pumpkins range from cutesy to down-right weird and I love each and every one of them. I never make any two the
same, so each pumpkin is a one of a kind.
Being fairly new to the ‘selling’ side of things, I started Black Hound Emporium hoping to reach people with a similar passion for Halloween and who might not be satisfied with the mass-produced, commercial props available each year. My motto: "nusual items for unusual people" and I believe that is a perfect statement!
